Gundog Foundations – Part 2 Take your training to the next level. This follow-on course is designed for dogs and handlers who have successfully completed Gundog Foundations – Part 1 and are ready to build on the skills they’ve already learned. In Part 1 we focused on creating strong foundations through retrieving, steadiness, placeboard work and practical everyday skills such as loose lead walking and engagement. Part 2 introduces one of the most enjoyable and rewarding aspects of gundog training – hunting together! It's a fantastic way to channel natural instincts into calm, purposeful teamwork, while continuing to build focus, connection and responsiveness. We’ll also continue to build on the skills you’ve already started alongside developing whistle training. As always, everything is taught using kind, reward-based methods, with exercises adapted to suit each individual dog. There are no birds, no guns and no harsh training methods. This is about giving your dog an outlet for their natural instincts while building skills that are just as valuable on your everyday walks as they are within gundog training. Whether you share your life with a spaniel, retriever, HPR, or simply an active dog that loves using their nose, this course provides a fantastic way to channel those instincts into calm, purposeful teamwork. Prerequisite: Dogs must have completed Gundog Foundations – Part 1 (or have equivalent experience agreed with The Canine Coach before booking).
